কল্পতরু উৎসব হল একটি হিন্দু উৎসব। রামকৃষ্ণ মঠের সন্ন্যাসীবৃন্দ ও রামকৃষ্ণ মিশনের গৃহস্থরা এই উৎসব পালন করেন। বিশ্বব্যাপী বেদান্ত সোসাইটিগুলিতেও এই উৎসব পালিত হয়।
১৮৮৬ সালের ১ জানুয়ারি এই উৎসব শুরু হয়েছিল। এই দিন রামকৃষ্ণ পরমহংস তাঁর অনুগামীদের কাছে নিজেকে ঈশ্বরের অবতার বলে ঘোষণা করেছিলেন। বিভিন্ন জায়গায় এই উৎসব পালিত হলেও কাশীপুর উদ্যানবাটীতে (বর্তমানে রামকৃষ্ণ মঠ ও মিশনের একটি শাখাকেন্দ্র) এই উৎসব মহাসমারোহে পালিত হয়। এখানেই রামকৃষ্ণ পরমহংস জীবনের শেষদিনগুলি অতিবাহিত করেছিলেন। রামকৃষ্ণ পরমহংসের অনুগামীরা এই উৎসবকে “ঠাকুরের বিশেষ উৎসব”গুলির অন্যতম উৎসব হিসেবে গণ্য করেন।
[১] দক্ষিণেশ্বর কালীবাড়িতেও এই উৎসব মহাসমারোহে পালিত হয়। সারা দেশ থেকে রামকৃষ্ণ-অনুগামী তীর্থযাত্রীরা এই দিন দক্ষিণেশ্বর কালীবাড়িতে পূজা দিতে আসেন।
[২] ২০১০ সালের ১ জানুয়ারি পূর্ব রেল দক্ষিণেশ্বরের তীর্থযাত্রীদের জন্য দুটি বিশেষ ট্রেনের ব্যবস্থা করেছিল।
[৩] এই উপলক্ষে দরিদ্রদের দাতব্য চিকিৎসা ও কম্বল বিতরণের আয়োজন করা হয়।
