A Chronology
1876: Suffered from malaria and was treated at Kayapat-Badanganj. Third visit to Dakshineswar in March Via Telo-Bhelo. Lived some days in the thatched hut built by Shambhu Mallick and then moved to the nahabat to serve Ramakrishna, who was then suffering from dysentery. Observed Savitri Vrata on 22 May. Returned to Jayrambati on 8 November via Burdwan.
1877: Ramakrishna’s mother, Chandramani, died on 13 February in Dakshineswar. Shambhu Mallick died. Fourth visit to Dakshineswar in March via Telo-Bhelo. Encountered a highwayman. Returned to Kamarpukur with Ramakrishna and Hriday in July by steamer and boat via Bali-Dewanganj. In September, Ramakrishna returned to Dakshineswar and Sarada to Jayrambati. Her mother, Shyamasundari, had a vision of Mother Jagaddhatri and performed Her worship with Sarada’s help.
1878-80: Lived in Jayrambati.
1881: the Fifth visit to Dakshineswar, with Shyamasundari, Lakshmi, and others, via Telo-Bhelo in March. Hriday treated them poorly and they left Dakshineswar on the same day with heavy hearts, returning to Jayrambati via Telo-Bhelo. In May, Hriday was dismissed from the temple for his misconduct.
1882-83: the Sixth visit to Dakshineswar via Telo-Bhelo in March 1882. Served the Master till June 1883 and then returned to Jayrambati via Telo-Bhelo.
1884: the Seventh visit to Dakshineswar via Telo-Bhelo. In January, Ramakrishna broke his arm. Holy Mother started her journey at an inauspicious time (Thursday afternoon), so the Master asked her to return home and start her journey again at an auspicious hour. She left the next day via Telo-Bhelo.. After a few days, she returned to Dakshineswar via TeloBhelo. This was her eighth visit. The Master sent her back to Kamarpukur in July to attend his nephew Ramlal’s wedding. Everyone at her party went to Burdwan by train and then by bullock cart to Kamarpukur.
1885: the Ninth visit to Dakshineswar in March 1885 via Burdwan. Ramakrishna developed cancer in April and was moved to Balaram’s house in Calcutta for treatment on 26 September. On 2 October Ramakrishna was moved to the house at Shyampukur. A few days later, Holy Mother moved to Shyampukur and began cooking a special diet for the Master. On 11 December, she moved with the Master to the Cossipore garden house.
