হাতি দেখতে গিয়ে চার কানা মানুষ । হাতির পা ছুঁয়ে গেল, আর বললো, 

1. ‘ হাতি একটা পিলার এর মত । 
2. ‘ দ্বিতীয়টা ট্রাঙ্ক স্পর্শ করেছে, এবং বলেছে, হাতি একটি মোটা লাঠি বা ক্লাবের মত । 
3. ‘তৃতীয় স্পর্শ করলো পেট, আর বললো,’ হাতি বড় জার মত । 
4. ‘চতুর্থ কান ছুঁয়ে গেল, আর বললো,’ হাতি যেন একটি winnowing ঝুড়ি । ‘ এইভাবে তারা নিজেদের মধ্যে ঝগড়া করতে শুরু করল হাতির মত । তাদের প ্ রতি আল ্ লাহর পক ্ ষ থেকে কোন প ্ রত ্ যক ্ ষ প ্ রত ্ যক ্ ষ ‘ তারা তাকে সবকিছু বলেছে, এবং তাকে তাদের করতে বলেছে । ঐ লোকটি বলল, ‘ তোমাদের কেউ হাতি দেখেনি । হাতি স্তম্ভের মত নয়, তার পা স্তম্ভের মত । এটা বড় জল-জাহাজের মত নয়, এর পেট যেন জল-জাহাজের মত । এটি একটি winnowing ঝুড়ি মত নয়, এর কান হল winnowing ঝুড়ি এর মত । এটি একটি পুরু লাঠি বা ক্লাবের মত নয়, কিন্তু এর proboscis এমন । হাতি এই সব কিছুর সমাহার । ‘ একই ভাবে যারা ঝগড়া করে তারা শুধুমাত্র দেবতার একটি দিক দেখেছে ।

Four visually impaired men went to see an elephant. 

1. One contacted the leg of the elephant, and stated, ‘The elephant resembles a column.’ 
2. The second contacted the storage compartment, and stated, The elephant resembles a thick stick or club.’ 
3. The third contacted the tummy, and stated, ‘The elephant resembles a major container.’ 
4. The fourth contacted the ears, and stated, 

‘The elephant resembles a winnowing crate.’ Thus they started to question among themselves with regards to the figure of the elephant. A bystander seeing them subsequently quarreling, stated, ‘Would it be that you are debating about?‘ They let him know everything and requested that the referee. That man stated, ‘None of you has seen the elephant. The elephant isn’t cared for a column, its legs resemble columns. It doesn’t care for a major water-vessel, its gut resembles a water-vessel. It hasn’t cared for a winnowing bin, its ears resemble winnowing bins. It doesn’t care for a thick stick or club, yet its proboscis is that way. The elephant is the blend of all these.’ In a similar way those fight who have seen one angle just of the Deity.
